Hello all! I know this has been covered in different places, but I’m trying to understand some
specifics pertaining to 90 day reporting. I understand the TM 30 is something a landlord fills out that you can get a certificate of residence with. I understand the TM 47 is the form used for 90 day reporting.
What I’m trying to understand is that after you do your initial 90 day reporting in person at immigration and you want to start doing them online going forward, if you happen to be traveling within Thailand at the time your next 90 day reporting is due, and let’s say you’re in a hotel in Chiang Mai, what would you upload to the online system that would be accepted? As I haven’t done it yet, I don’t know how user-friendly it is. Would you simply upload the TM 30 of the hotel you’re staying at at that time? How does it work? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of 90-day reporting in Thailand allows expats to file their updates online after the initial in-person report. When traveling within Thailand, it is generally advised to use your primary address for the report, as long as it hasn't changed. Comments suggest that you should upload the original address where you are registered, not necessarily the address of your hotel. If online filing is unsuccessful, you have the option to report in person at immigration offices.

After your initial 90Day report in person, and assuming you haven't left the country, you just file online as normal. If your primary address hasn't changed then you don't need to file a new TM30 or TM27(change of primary residence) as you travel around Thailand. It would probably be a good idea to file a new TM30 when you return home.
So is it best to use your actual address (of your home) even when traveling? I thought you had to report where you physically are at that point in time, not where you live?
The online reporting is a roll of the dice, sometimes it works other times it doesn't. You can always do your 90 day report in Chiang Mai if online doesn't work. A friend lives in Chaing Mai and said they very good.
