I have booked my flight to HCMC (Jan 4th to 9th) to apply for a Non O single entry (intend to extend based on marriage). I am an American currently on Non O-A (retirement extension.) I have read all the requirements as given on this website.

Question: Do I need to make an appointment at the Thai Consulate in HCMC? I cannot find a place on their website to make an appointment.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Consulate in HCMC does not require appointments for visa applications; it operates on a walk-in basis. Note that they only accept US currency for the visa fee, which is $80.

Was there 3 days ago. Letter needs to be in Thai. I turned up at 8.05, first in queue. Doors open 8.30. Out by 8.45. Picked up next day. Doors open 13.30. I was last in queue. All done by 13.50.

Yes, I am told it can be in either Thai or English. I think she would prefer to write it in Thai.
