Hello! I have a question about documents on entry into Thailand. I purchased an fake onward ticket to apply for my Thai visa last month but it has now expired. Would I need to get a new onward ticket to show on entry into Thailand or can I use the expired one?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the necessity of presenting a new onward ticket upon entry into Thailand, following the expiration of a previously purchased, but fake, ticket used for visa application. Responses indicated that the onward ticket is primarily required for check-in at the departing airport rather than for entry into Thailand. Additionally, a user noted that as long as the onward ticket is from a different airline, it's likely that airline systems won't check the expired ticket, and immigration typically does minimal verification.

As long as your onward ticket isn't the same airline you're flying to Thailand, it should be fine. The airline won't waste the time to check and probably doesn't even have access to another airline's systems and immigration will only glance at it if they even want to see it.

I thought that if anyone had your PNR and surname they could check your flight status. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

you're overthinking. Why would anyone care? They are just checking off a box.

I can assure you I have done two TR60's recently from London and I didn't need an onward flight for the visas

I didn't say you needed one, I said the application asks for one.

yes apparently they asked me for a onward ticket to apply for my visa so I had to buy a fake one. Not sure if I have to do this again or I can just use the same one now it’s expired. Do they check on arrival for an onward ticket out of Thailand if you have the 60 day visa?

I needed it for application apparently but I have the 60 day visa now and so I’m wondering if I can use this expired onward ticket as proof of onward flight on entry into Thailand or do they check to see if it’s legit and will know it’s expired

If I remember, the check-in desk person actually checked on his computer whether my onward ticket was real or not... (Lufthansa in Toulouse)...

you can google "onward tickets" and get a real ticket valid for 48h, for about 12$...

Your visa, when issued, is valid for a 90 day entry window so no entry or onward flights would be needed for the application

it will most likely be the airline who will check at check in more than immigration once landed. I don't know if they check to see if your ticket us legit or not at check in or just a quick scan to see you're leaving Thailand within 60 days.
