Asking for a friend so does not pertain to myself personally hence the anonymous post. Apologies if that breaks any standard protocols :-)
Regarding the proof of funds (500,000THB or equivalent on another currency): have anyone had any issues of any kind, shape or form, when they have shown the required funds being in a Thai bank account in their own (applicants) name?
My friend is worried that, since DTV is a tourist related visa, that if the funds are sitting in a Thai bank account in their own name (applicants), that the embassy processing the application might feel "but, are you truly a genuine tourist since you have a Thai bank account already?" and start asking questions.
I think it's a fair question and I have tried to help my friend Google it but impossible as it is swamped by results related to "Can I get a Thai bank account with a DTV visa?" which is not related to what I am asking here.
The group members input and first-hand experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry discusses concerns regarding the use of funds stored in a Thai bank account for the Digital Nomad Tourist Visa (DTV) application process. Many respondents shared experiences confirming that having money in a Thai bank account does not negatively affect the application, with approvals noted despite the account's existence. It appears that as long as the applicant can demonstrate the source of the funds, there are generally no issues during the visa application process.
I was interviewed and questioned on it but absolutely no problem, but I could also backup where the money came from. If your “friend” was working illegally and making money in Thailand, it might be a different story.
Let's avoid the quotation marks please. Completely unnecessary. No work in Thailand and money comes from abroad and goes way back to deposits starting since the 2010's.
Approved with a Thai Bank account no questions asked. And had 2 Ed-visas before I applied for the DTV. That's how I opened a Thai Bank account. They didn't care
The embassy will post their requirements in the host country local currency or USD.
Its irrelevant to them if the applicant has a Thai bank account.
One can obtain a Thai bank account as a tourist. Even now as long as you have a good reason (real estate purchase. The seller can probably assist) or an agent.
