TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the experiences of expats transferring 800,000 THB out of Thailand while on a retirement visa. Most users reported no issues, with some mentioning specific services like SMARTSWIFT33 and Wise for transfers. There were concerns about potential scrutiny from banks regarding the origin of funds, especially when transferring larger amounts or if the funds needed to be verified after returning to their home country. Additionally, recommendations for banking services and the ease of sending smaller amounts were shared.

My bank doesn’t know what type of visa I have when I enter, so I’m puzzled why your type of visa and your banking are linked!

Ive sent small amounts to UK using Wise ( 10,000 baht 3 times ) and it works fine.
I just tried 10k at a time to check it works as I need to spend a lot of my 800 while here and going back after a year. At least I know that if I still have a few 100k I can send it to uk.

Bank will give you paperwork to fill out and sending it back
Not sure if you mean physically or digital ? For digital,
If you have a bank in your home country and have an app from your Thai bank account, you can easy do it in parts with your Thai bank app. The costs will be a bit higher but 'hey', think you need it only one time I guess.
