TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibility of obtaining an extra 7 days in Koh Samui after using two 30-day tourist visas. Users clarify that the 7-day extension is not guaranteed, often dependent on the circumstances of an extension application being denied. They suggest that it is usually better to leave the country and return for a new entry, as visa rules can be confusing and vary based on individual cases.
No, you must leave the Kingdom before 23:59 hours on the day stamped in your passport as Admitted to ../../.. or Permitted up to ../../.. Not 7 days later.
I guess you came into Thailand without a Visa and got the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry than OR you went to the Immigration Office for an Extension of Stay for another 30 days, which can not be Extended again as explained by others, OR did you do a border run for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, than you can apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay. It seems confusing, but calling everything a 30 day visa, does not really help to give advice as a 30 day tourist visa does not exist in Thailand.
Once I did it Pattaya many years ago, I Had already done an extension on my visa but what I did I got a doctor's note saying I was to sick to travel as I had a bad fever, really I just wanted another week before I headed back for work, cost 1900 BAHT.
, IF the IO denies you the extra 7 days 'to leave Thailand', he is basically telling you YOU need to leave Thailand ON THAT VERY SAME DAY, I hope things work out for you ;-)
Yep, as mentioned it is up to the Immigration Officer to accept your application and stamp it as not approved and give you 7 days to leave the country. Or he will just tell you to make a border run for a new Visa Exempt Entry.
The extra 7 days is only when trying to apply for another extension and they deny you. They don’t always give another 7 days. Better to fly out and back in if you need additional time.
