Has anyone had experienced changing from Non-O marriage visa to DTV?

Or know if the Non-O needs to have expired?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibility of changing from a Non-O marriage visa to a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand. It is clarified that you cannot change visas within Thailand; instead, you must leave the country before your current visa expires and apply for a DTV at a Thai consulate or embassy abroad. If you are on a yearly extension of stay with a valid re-entry permit, you may easily obtain a DTV without issues, whereas those with a valid multi-entry visa may face difficulties, as some consulates are not issuing DTVs to them.

Okay, the O/P contacted me and indicated they are on a yearly extension of stay from inside thailand with a multiple re-entry permit from the airport.

They should have no issue at all exiting the country getting a DTV at a thai consulate and then entering on it

The embassy will sell the DTV to people with extensions (and re-entry permits) no problem at all. AND as long as when you enter the country you tell passport control when you stamp in you want to get IN on the DTV you won't have problems

You can NOT change from one visa to the DTV inside Thailand.

IF your visa is used you can leave the country before the Admitted until date and apply for a new DTV abroad.

OR if you are on an Extension of Stay permitted up to xx/xx/xx, than depending on reason of issue, you cancel this Extension of Stay, leave Thailand and apply for the DTV.

What we are seeing reported is;

If you are on a currently valid multi-entry VISA <-(that you got from a thai consulate and which you COULD use to enter thailand on) SOME consulates/embassies are not issuing DTV's

Where as

If you are on a yearly extension of stay <-(that you got from the immigration office inside thailand, even if you have a valid re-entry permit) there is no issue with the consulates/embassies issuing DTV's

So my question to you IS are you currently on a valid multi entry visa or are you on an extension of stay?
