Can you switch from a work permit visa to a DTV while in Thailand, and is it necessary to leave the country?

Hi guys and apologise if someone has asked this already. Do you know if you can switch visas from work permit to DTV? And if so, is it still required to leave the country? Thanks!

You cannot switch from a work permit visa to a DTV visa while in Thailand. To obtain a DTV visa, you must leave the country and cancel your work permit, as the DTV can only be acquired from a Thai consulate located outside of Thailand.

You can't switch. The DTV can only be obtained from a Thai consulate and there isn't one in Thailand
