TLDR : Answer Summary
The time to receive a Thailand Pass for the Phuket Sandbox can vary significantly among applicants. Many report receiving their QR codes in a range from just a few seconds to up to a week. There are anecdotal reports indicating that individuals with complete documentation, particularly those with automated processes linked to QR codes from vaccination certificates, tend to get approvals faster, often within 2 business days. However, others may experience longer wait times due to manual processing, especially if there are issues with insurance or documentation. Generally, if there is no response after 7 days, applicants are encouraged to reach out for expedited processing.

My Thai gf called a number in Krabi and luckily whoever picked up spoke the same dialect and she got it processed by end of day. But otherwise it was already on day 4, and we had flights for 2 days later.

It does seem to be something of a lottery. I applied for mine from U.K. last Thursday and Sandbox approval was provided Monday, so was 2 business days.

I provided cropped QR codes from my NHS Covid Pass and I’ve also taken out Thai insurance cover from Luma. It seems that this has definitely helped to make for a quick approval.

Did my PCR test at Boots yesterday and got the result this morning so I’m now looking forward to my Etihad flight to Phuket leaving LHR on Friday lunchtime (fog permitting!)

I'm day 6 now. No joy with the phone numbers either. Had a friend in Thailand call on my behalf and they were informed that the officials were dealing with those arriving on

th Jan.

I am wondering if the delay is due in part to my insurance being from the UK and not the usual package insurance sold to placate the application process therefore it needs to be manually looked at as this process should be automatic more or less.

Those being manually checked will obviously be done during office hourse so by the time Europe/UK day time comes around the office hours in Thailand are almost done for the day so chances of making contact are very slim to none.

Either way this is frustrating and the days between now and departure are getting less ...

them numbers do not work, I’ve rang everyone of them multiple times for the last 5 days and nothing, the first 2 numbers are Thai only no matter how many times you press 9 for English you only get Thai, the bottom 2 numbers are dead/not in service

There is no set time to get the ThailandPass QR code returned to you.

It appears that if your vaccination certificate has QR codes associated with it and you upload a cropped image of those when asked then the process may be automated and you’ll get a reply quickly.

If not then it is usually put in the “manual queue” and process times could be 7 days or so. Of those posts we see where it’s not an automated return it appears average time is 3-7 days.

If you haven’t received your code after 7 days then try to send them an email with your details and ask for it to be expedited.
