...I think the pressure on the Goverment will increase as we get into the High season....not many hospitality businesses can survive (6.5 million officially employed) a full season of no tourists. Next year is only 5 months away. Again unfortunately I donโt think thatโs something that is a priority for the Thai government atm, however much you or I might like it to be. they are unemployed but that's what many of them had to do in low season anyway. I know you all want to come back and want to think the Thai government is going to start granting 'normal' tourist visas soon - it's not. Whether you like it or not, it's committed to a high level of testing and quarantine (and I'm sure there's a lot of money going to those hotels that benefit the government). It gets a lot of kudos from UN/ASEAN for the way it has handled the pandemic (and don't get me wrong, the measures they've put in place are impressive), and it likes that. It's obv all opinions but I guess that's what you're asking for right? I'd say no, not for short-term tourist travel. It seems like COVID is spiking up again in many countries and that's not going to get better in 'winter' for many of them. The Thai government is being v cautious. I think Elite purchasers will be the next allowed in (it's already happening very slowly) so if that's an option for you given your circumstances, I'd say go for it.
