Non-B extension

My partner on a 3 months non-B visa expiring on sunday. 

Her HR made a mistake on the work permit and now told her she will receive the updated one on Friday and if she cannot get the 12 months non-B extension same day then she should just go Monday to one Bangkok. 

But am I right that you cannot just extend with 1 day overstay? Have to go to immigration first to pay a fine and explain?

Her company unfortunately refuses to use an agent.

She could either go on Friday if she receives the paperwork early enough or go on Monday. Overstay is not normally a problem if you go the first day the immigration office is open
