Hi All. I have emailed the embassy in UK regarding a query I have. I work offshore in oil and gas on a rotational basis remotely and wondered if that would be a suitable occupation to be accepted for DTV in the remote category. Does anyone have any experience in this? My email to London Thai Embassy is as follows:
Hello,
I hope you're doing well. I work offshore remotely, and I'm writing to inquire if this is a suitable occupation to successfully get accepted for a Destination Thailand visa in the remote work category. Can you please provide more details on this and let me know if it's an option?
Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Once I have a response, I'll share here. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether their offshore remote work in oil and gas qualifies for a Destination Thailand visa (DTV) in the remote work category. They have reached out to the Thai embassy in the UK for clarification and plan to share the response. A comment from another user indicates that they had no issues obtaining a DTV while working offshore, suggesting that it may be acceptable.
Thanks Tony, really appreciate you responding. I was wondering did the word, "remote" need to be in any of the documents you supplied for DTV? I have my contract that states offshore on a set rotation but no wording with, "remote".
had a company cover letter with my swing rotation mentioned and length of service I keep a copy with me when entering thailand +the dtv letter have had no issues over 4 separate visits just show copy of dtv approval safe travels 😀
