Looking for advice on applying for DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) without third-party services

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and would love to hear from those who successfully applied through the Thai Embassy in Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam without using third-party visa services.

Here’s my situation:

I have a remote 6-month contract with a Singapore-based company, and the contract will likely be extended in the future.

My supervisor has agreed to assist me with the 500,000 THB proof of funds requirement.

I’ve reviewed the official guidelines and understand the document requirements, but I’m hoping to learn from real experiences about:

1. The process and challenges of applying directly at these embassies.

2. How long the processing time took for you.

3. Any tips or specific embassy policies (e.g., differences between Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam).

4. Any additional documents or details that embassies asked for during your application.

If you’ve gone through this process, I’d greatly appreciate sharing your experience.

Thanks in advance!

So your supervisor plans to transfer the funds into your bank account?

Not sure. I’ve heard that some Thai embassies, like in Vietnam, may accept proof of funds via recent transfers, while others may not. Do you know which embassies are more flexible in this regard?

Or can a guarantee letter from my employer be accepted as proof of funds?

don’t know anyone who was successful with a guarantee letter. I supplied 6 months of bank statements in my name. I know others have had issues when bank statements were not in their name (business name).

on this particular issue I’d suggest a recent transfer will not be sufficient. I applied less than a month ago in Vietnam and as you can only upload a single doc I initially only uploaded my most recent bank statement.

They almost immediately requested additional docs, including 6 months bank statements.

I used an online application to merge multiple documents together. I uploaded 15 to 20 document.

Just search PDF merger on Google.
