Hi, my son’s 30 day stamp expires 12th of august - it’s a public holiday. He needs to get 30 days more extension because he’s flying back to US 24th august. I wonder if they’ll give him 30 days more on 13th if his previous stamp expired already or does he have time fly out ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Your son can apply for a 30-day tourism extension after his stamp expires on a public holiday, and it's advisable to do so on the next working day (13th August). As the immigration office is closed on the expiry date, he won't incur any fines for overstaying and should receive the extension without issues.
If your son is eligible for a 30-day tourism extension, he can apply for one at the local immigration office. As the last day is on office closure, he will get the stamp that says the overstay fine is waived and he can get a tourism extension as normal.
Next time, don't wait until the last day for a tourism extension as it will be added to the entry stamp (top-up), no downside to doing it earlier.
