A marriage certificate is not needed at all. However, you need to inform the hotel timeously that you will be sharing a room. Also, she needs to meet the entry requirements for Phuket of she's not already there.

I told hotel she was staying in the booking process. They said she’d have to have been vaccinated. They never checked but she has.

I just did my 2 weeks in the holiday inn Patong beach. Im on me own but they gave me 3 entry cards, so no problem.
