TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about whether a friend coming to study in Thailand can hold a part-time job. The consensus among community responses is a clear 'no,' particularly for those on an ED (educational) visa, as work is prohibited under this visa type. Some comments suggest alternative online work options that don't require a specific visa for physical presence.
Check the Thai Government website as it will detail this. In UK for example I think bona-fide students can work up to 10 hours a week but check what the rules are here.
Ive had to close my hostel having been here for 6 years but I'm getting by doing some work online, basically sex chatting and it's really helped me out so maybe they could consider something like that. I do about 4 to 5 hours a day and I making around 12,000thb per week and you can work from anywhere so long as you have a laptop π€·π
. You need a work visa and work permit to work here as a foreigner. Education visas don't allow work.
The only possibility is an internship which is Education linked to a job. Chances of that a the moment are zero. There are enough thais without jobs here atm
