Hello, I would like to ask about working part time in Thailand. As I possess the Non-IMM B visa and have a valid work permit for a Thai company, but I would like to work for another Thai company as a freelance worker (part time only). Is it okay or do I need to apply for another work permit? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual with a Non-IMM B visa and a valid work permit for a Thai company is inquiring whether they can work part-time as a freelance worker for another Thai company. Two responses indicate that it's advisable to check with the labour department for clarification, as visa and work permit regulations can vary. One comment suggests that a second work permit may not be necessary provided the part-time work is in the same field as the existing work permit.
You don't need another work permit to work part-time. The law says as long as you're working in the same field as your work permit, you can do part time work. So if you have a WP as a teacher, you can also teach part time for another school/company.
I'd pay a visit to your labour department and explain to them what you would like to do. They will talk you through the process. Laws changed a bout 4 years ago ( early 2019) and as long as you're not working in a prescribed occupation, theoretically, you can work for any employer in any province. This, however,is not how it's being interpreted. Seek proper advice from the labour department to stay on the right side of the law.
