If someone was to find a job as a part time English Teacher in Chiang Mai - then how will they get a visa & a work permit? Do they apply directly to the Immigration & Labor department? What are the requirements for applying the same?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To work as a part-time English teacher in Chiang Mai, one generally needs to obtain a Non-B visa and a work permit. This involves securing documentation from a prospective employer. However, it is reported that few employers are willing to offer visas and work permits for part-time positions.

You get a Non-B visa and a work permit with documentation from your employer..

AFAIK: no employer is offering a visa and work permit for part time work. :/

Nickunj. Just a slight word of warning. When I started teaching, I did a few terms ‘part-time’ as I thought it a good idea.

Unfortunately, what I thought ‘part-time’ work was, wasn’t anything like the Thai’s thought. It was NO less work than a ‘full-timer’, no holiday/sick pay and a lot less money.

Suggest you ensure you don’t get caught out like me.
