I use Krungsri bank and use Udon Thani immigration office. I have a FCD USD savings account and a THB savings account. I intend to use my FCD account to apply for my extension. Krungsri will issue the guarantee letter but there is no bank book to update. Will this be a problem?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about using an FCD USD savings account at Krungsri bank for their visa extension application at the Udon Thani immigration office. They mention that while their bank will issue a guarantee letter, there isn't a bank book to update. Several comments suggest that using a foreign currency account for extensions is permissible as long as it's in a Thai bank account in the user's name. However, it's recommended to obtain a detailed transaction statement and keep an eye on balance requirements to avoid any issues during the application process.

There is nothing in immigration rules that prohibit foreign currency accounts as long as they're in a thai bank account in your name only and you meet the seasoning requirements.

Definitely get a year detail transaction print out from your bank. As people mentioned some banks can't print it on demand and it can take up to a week to get one Allow for that so it doesn't catch you out.

And to address the "appeal" issue. IF you feel that you were not treated according to the immigration rules you can request to file a written appeal, Those have to be sent to Bangkok so most smaller backwater offices don't want you to do it as it puts them under the microscope.

Did you request a dispute? They should be able to accept it.

You must/should ask for a bank statement for 3 or 12 months, depending on which visa you are extending? If more than 6 months, it will most likely take a week or more for the bank to avail it.

You will need a statement showing MONTHLY BALANCES from the Thai bank account you are using for the verification of funds for your one year extension of stay as retiree.

As there are minimum balance requirements during the year that must be met to get the extension you need approved.
