Morning guys and girls

Had to renew my extension to stay based on marriage yesterday

I use a combination of foreign and Thai bank accounts got letters and bank statements from banks but unlike last year was sent back to the bank by the 👮 to get another letter confirming the amount in British pound exchanged to Thai baht

Hope it saves some of you a bit of time

(a lot more questions this time too)

The office I used was Nakhon Phanom

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully renewed their extension to stay based on marriage, using a combination of foreign and Thai bank accounts for financial proof. They mentioned needing additional confirmation from the bank regarding the exchange of British pounds to Thai baht, unlike the previous year. This information may help others in the same situation.

Wait, so you CAN use a combo method for proof of finances for the ext. based on marriage?

so would the top part be my wife’s info or house owners? Middle would be the house that we rent or my wife’s tabien baan info? And then what documents need to be send as a file at the bottom? Wife’s I.D.? House owners and her tabien baan?

@Tod ********
thanks man. Will give it a go

you don't need ANYTHING but the ability to read thai and fill in boxes. Sit next to her and have her explain what the fields are asking for and tell her the answers. You can even have her tell you what they want and you can write it in english if you want to . doesn't matter

@Tod ********
will just need our house owners info right? My wife while I love very much is not very good with technology or anything internet related.
Bobby ****
@Tod ********
alright. Will give it a shot

@Bobby ***
you don't have to be the house owner to sign up for it.

@Bobby ***
I rent too and I was able to sign right up with no problem, I'd have your wife sign up and see if you get approved

@Tod ********
yea I need to have our house owner do it, we still rent for the time being.

Why she would even comment on you holding a work permit (or why she would know unless she read the notation in the back of your passport) seeing as she's not a Labour Ministry employee and it's NONE of her business is beyond me.

@Robert ******
interesting. Yea I have a WP through teaching as well but do not want a non-b and my (Thai) salary isn’t enough to cover the monthly income for the extension. and last time I went in for address she gave me a hard time bc I have the non-o M based on spouse and she didn’t know that you can have that visa and a WP but the officer next to her did know that and this lady lost face so she got upset with me obviously.

why would they give you a hard time about filing a TM.30 form when you come back into the country on a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage? Ignore them, AND have your wife join the online TM.30 program so you can register yourself when you border bounce from now on.
Robert *******
Bobby Bo I tried that, answer is NO, If you have Thai based salary you must pay income tax over the minimum salary based on your country and that is for most countries 50.000 Thb a month or if married 40.000 Thb.

@Tod ********
right, that’s what I thought. What about combo for just the monthly income from two countries, USA based and Thai based? No, right? I was told at CR imm. about 5 months ago that could not so that’s why I went and did another multiple entry based on spouse which I’m sure they are going to give me a hard time about again when I go Monday for my address update.

@Bobby ***
You CANNOT use the combination method (part banked money and part monthly income) for extensions of stays based on marriage OR raising half thai children, That can ONLY be used on extensions based on being over 50 (retirement)

Well Robert I certainly couldn't go back an English bank could I it's called a foreign account with Bangkok bank
Bobby ****
@Robert ******
yea most likely. I am in HCMC and applied for my new visa this morning and I believe everything is good for when I pick up tomorrow. Will write a report when I return.

@Bobby ***
I guess he has a Thai bank with an account holding British pound with a value over 400.000 Thb and not using his foreign bank account as well to get to this amount.
Bobby ****
@Robert ******
that’s what I thought. I was told several months ago at the CR immigration combo cannot be used. So that’s why I’m on the non-O multiple for spouse which she didn’t like either. Could be just different provincial office? Who knows.
Robert *******
Sound strange to me that you can use foreign banks. But it is what he wrote.
