Can I transfer my funds to a different bank for my Thai Non-O visa extension without issues?

I’m on my second year extension non-O , retirement using the 800,000 banking method . Question my local branch bank where I do extensions in Pai Maehongson is closing . Has anyone had a problem transferring to a different bank as far as the 12 months statements go ? I’d prefer to keep my account with Krungsri but it would mean having to go to Chiang Mai to get bank statements when I go to do extension in 2022 . I have until April 26th when they close here to decide what to do

Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about transferring their funds to a different bank for their Thai Non-O visa extension due to the closing of their local bank branch in Pai Maehongson. They question whether transferring to Krungsri bank and obtaining 12 months of bank statements would pose any problems during their visa extension process. Community members suggest alternatives such as getting statements from any branch of the bank, online ordering of statements, and the possibility of transferring funds electronically without issues, as long as the financial requirements for the visa extension are fulfilled.

I misread this post
@J**
:O Now I see we're talking about you getting the extension NEXT year (in 2022) not an extension this year :P

So as long as you HIT the "money stays in the account for 3 months AFTER your current extension was granted" then you could transfer it in "chunks" over to the new bank where the balance never went below 400K on the main account until you had at least 400K baht in the other account you should be fine.

When is your 2021 extension due?

I already did my extension for 2021 early February . Was just thinking of going to Bangkok Bank here in Pai and tranfer entire amount from Krungsri same day

just a thought... I'd transfer half of amount first after three month seasoning finishes, make sure both accounts have more than 400K for one 1 day, then transfer rest of amount... In the worst scenario, if there is some delay on the transaction data, results you may fail to keep the least amount just for one day, your application for extension next year will be rejected...

Thanks ! My partner went to Immigration this afternoon . I think Im just going to keep this bank account active with the 800,000 and go to Chiang Mai next January to get the statements which they will do in an hour . Then drive back to Pai ( 3 hours ) and submit to immigrations . If theres any problem with this then next year I will change banks . I'd still need a one month statement from yellow bank if I transfer to Bangkok Bank anyway and then a statement for the rest of the year from Bangkok Bank .

You can go to any branch of the bank to get the bank letter and request the year transaction history print out.

but nearest will be 2 or 3 hours away . I guess the 12 month statement would be good for a few days but the letter I need I thought has to be dated the day you apply for extension ?

@J**
, :O yep
@Ja***
has a good point (y) , you will need the bank book updated on the date you apply :/

which means best to open with new bank otherwise a 2 hour drive without hiccups would be the only plan and I’ve had small hiccups both times lol Thank you !

at samut prakan the letter is good for a week but your bank book must be on the day of applying

Can you just order statements on line with your bank... I use K Bank and they send the statements by email the same day

I had a similar situation, It seems if you do the transfer electronically, same day its fine. I had to do 2 x 400k on 2 consecutive days as there was a 500k daily limit. Just provide books ,statements and letters from both banks to immigration
