Hello, i wish to confirm if foreign bank statement can be used for a one year extension NON-O Marriage or only Thai bank account?

If not, and as i see bank statement are now required when applying for a Non-O 3 months, can the foreign bank account be used? In that case i plan to do it in Vientiane or HMC.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that foreign bank statements can be used for the initial application for a Non-O visa from outside Thailand, but for extensions, especially for the one-year Non-O Marriage visa, you must provide a Thai bank account statement. It's also essential to maintain the required balance of 400,000 THB in the Thai bank account to qualify for the extension.

No it has to be a bank in Thailand and a 12 month bank statement

Well its quite straightforward if your applying for non o 90 day outside the country its ok, if its a visa ext 12 months at your local immigration office then its a local bank statement

Do I need an existing thai bank account to apply for a non o from a visa extension while in country or can I first get that 90 day visa and then open a bank account to season the funds for the 12 month extension?

opening bank account now needs you to have a non o visa, which you have to get before you arrive. Its a 90 day visa which gives you time to open the bank account and allow for your funds to be seasoned, before your visa ext for a full 12 months.

I heard there was a way to do that whilst in the country. Looks like I’ll have to leave and apply for it first

tell me what it is? It was said that some agents were offering a service, personally I wouldn't trust that route, also Thaivisa company offer a complete service at a cost. They have good feedback, there might be others.

You’ll need to have the 400k in a Thai bank in your name only avoid Bangkok Bank

Yes you can use foreign bank statement for initial non-o outside of Thailand BUT not inside . All extensions are based on Thai bank accounts

I am a bit of a novice myself at this but October I came out to live in Thailand after getting my non. O, visa due to being married to a Thai lady.

When the first week I went to her bank and successfully after showing passport my 90 day visa and my wife sort of documentation of marriage so-and-so on. I opened a bank account. They knew it was to get a one year visa, but the bank has to mature for 2 months before I can apply and some say it's right. Some say it's wrong, but they have actually frozen the four hundred thousand thai backs or the ten k that I transferred with yes to that bank.for 6 months but my situation was to always have the money I pull it in to forget about it, because some people open up two bank accounts at the moment. It is perfect because they freeze the four hundred thousand but you can put more money in and pay with the q.R like most thai people do hope that I was giving you some idea. The bank obviously says it was requirement for me to get the paperwork.I'm assuming that's the statements and the certificate to get the visa

the freezing for 4 months is a Bangkok bank policy.
