TLDR : Answer Summary
Users confirm that a driving license can be used as proof of address when applying for a Non-O spouse visa from London. Many have reported successful applications using this document. It's advisable to include additional documents like a marriage certificate and possibly a signed letter of invitation from your spouse. Clarifications about the signature requirement on the ID were also discussed, with no strict obligation noted, though providing a signature may be beneficial.

When applying from your home country, a driver's license or ID page in your passport is usually enough to document your location.

It won't do any harm along with a letter inviting you and your marriage certificate

thanks for your advice appreciate it. Will include the marriage certificate for sure. For the photo of the ID do you think placing it on a piece of paper with a signature on would be a good way of adding the signature?

that works, although the ID along with an invitation letter from your wife should suffice
