DTV Approved in Ho Chi Minh 🇻🇳
Hi everyone! Our DTV (Remote Worker) visas were approved today in Vietnam (Self-Applied).
Timeline:
• April 25: Application submitted.
Status changed to "Pending Check"
• May 7: requested additional documents.
• May 8: Documents resubmitted.
Status changed to "Pending approval"
• May 14: Visa Approved!
Total: ~3 weeks
Additional Documents Requested:
For my Australian partner: A full 6-month bank statement as proof of funds.
For my Chinese passport:
Current Location Proof: A full passport scan, local accommodation booking, and a photo of myself at a local attraction to prove I was physically in Vietnam.
And Professional Proof: CV, qualifications, portfolio; company profile, and website.
There definitely seem to be more stringent requirements for certain passport holders. If you are in this category, I recommend being over-prepared with your professional portfolio and business documentation.
⭐️"Place of Issue" ⭐️
In my case, I have a Chinese passport that was issued in Australia.
There is a lot of anxiety around the "Place of Issue" field in the passport when your nationality doesn't match the country where the passport was issued.
Despite rumors that this mismatch leads to cancellations, I chose to fill it out exactly as written in my passport. It was approved without any issues.
Good luck to everyone, see you in Thailand !
