From uk stamped in on visa exemption for 30 days. Already extended once for 30 additional days, which expires this week. I am due to fly back to work three days after it expires and don’t want to drive all the way to Mae Sai. I think I read that this extension can be extended for another 14 days at Chiang Mai Immigration. Is this correct?

Summary so far

The user inquired whether they could extend their 30-day visa exemption for an additional 14 days at Chiang Mai Immigration after already extending it once. Comments suggest that this is not correct, as only one extension of stay is allowed, and any further attempts might lead to a denial, with the possibility of being advised to do a border run instead.

no, it is not correct. You can only apply and get once a 30 day Extension of Stay. If you apply again, the application will be not approved and you get 7 days to leave the country BUT this is the decision of the Immigration Officer. It could be that the advice will be, do a border run as that is cheaper than the 1.900 Thb for this application.
