Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹,

I am thinking about applying for the non O retirement visa (is this the 10 year?). My husband is not yet 50. Can I sponsor him as a dependant?
Answer summary
The user is considering applying for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, questioning whether they can sponsor their husband, who is under 50, as a dependant. Multiple comments highlight that while the Non-O visa allows for annual renewal, it may not permit dependants if the primary visa holder is not over 50. To successfully bring their husband in on a dependant visa, it might be necessary to obtain a Non-OA visa, which has stricter requirements. Participants suggest contacting the relevant Thai embassy for exact guidelines, as visa criteria can vary significantly.

Get non-immigrant O 90 days at the Thai Embassy of your country. Go to Thailand for this period, open bank account, put money, prepare all necessary docs for non immigrant 1 year visa, as soon as you get it you can add your husband. But the best is to contact trustful agencies on watsapp and they will explain you everything. And maybe help you in Thailand.

Looking at the comments it appears you don't meet the requirements for the LTR Wealthy Pensioner visa. If you get a Non-O visa your husband will struggle to get a Non-O as your dependant anywhere but a number of consulates will allow him to get a Non-O as your dependant if you get a Non-OA visa. The Non-OA visa requires insurance, police checks etc so consequently can only be applied for if you are either in your home country or a country where you have an official right of residence

TrustworthyRabbit3102 you probably started out on this visa a LONG TIME ago, this is why your are profiting from the "grandfathering rule". It is not possible for newcomers any more

You will need to contact the Thai foreign mission that has jurisdiction as requirements can vary between embassies.

A so-called trailing spouse arrangement normally requires the principal applicant to hold minimum a one year Non O-A visa.

Non O is not the 10 years; for that you have to look the LTR WP

Sue Pollard Yes, there are different Non O visa options

I'm guessing retirement because you mentioned your husband's age,

Pretty sure it's okay,

If he can enter on a tourist visa then apply for Non O dependant / Trailing spouse I think it's called.

you dug up the wrong info. These are the requirements for a foreigner married to a Thai wife. You should have avoided to write "spouse" into the search ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

that is obviously a Google or Ai that does not fully understand the question as prompted.

A non-o dependant on over 50, requires no financial proofs at all, as they are dependant on the primary Visa holder.

The 40k income or 400k in the bank is a requirement of marriage to a Thai wife.

Has nothing to do with 2 foreigners and one of over 50 visa.

Thusly a completely wrong answer.

90 day non-o based on being over 50, then a 90 day dependant on that visa- is not available in Thailand or any other the SEA embassies.

Some embassies still allowed it but varies.

The last embassy I am aware that allowed a non-o dependant on retirement was Australia.

Almost all will want the primary to be on a 1yr OA.

THEN they may issue one.
