Have I understood correctly? If I arrive on a Non Imm O single entry 90 day visa, can I fly out and back again within the validity period of the visa (with a reentry permit) and be stamped in for another 90 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you arrive in Thailand on a Non Immigrant O single entry 90-day visa, you can leave and re-enter Thailand using a reentry permit without affecting the original 90-day stamp. However, when you re-enter, you will not receive an additional 90 days; instead, the reentry permit keeps your current entry stamp valid until the original expiration date.
Why would ya apply for a non-o if ya was going to fly out ya may as well save ya money and get a 60 day stamp visa exempt.

That way you are seeking two Visa Exempt entries very close together which could be seen as risky or, at least, look bad in the future if seeking another Visa Exempt entry
yes…The story short: I arrive every year on a non Imm o 90 day single entry. I leave and come back on visa exempt which I extend..totally 180 days a year.
If the visa exempt is reduced to 30 days, I will only be able to stay 150…..So I was wondering if I could come back during my visas validity, and get another 90 days.
Q. If I arrive on a Non Imm O single entry 90 day visa, can I fly out and back again within the validity period of the visa (with a reentry permit)
-> Partially yes, you can leave Thailand and back again with a valid re-entry permit within the period of the first entry stamp you already have, even after the initial visa validity.
Q. and be stamped in for another 90 days?
Not another 90 days. You will be stamped until the same date with the one on the first entry stamp. A re-entry permit can keep the current stamp alive, but cannot add any more days to that.
