DTV Visa is very easy to get on your own. Providing you meet the requirements. I do see a lot of people asking about agents that can help. Honestly i would recommend you go to the official Thai government site. Its self explanatory. For those who are unsure here is my breakdown of the pros and cons of using agents.

## Benefits:

1. Expert Knowledge: Agents have extensive knowledge of the DTV visa application process, requirements, and regulations.

2. Time-Saving: Agents handle the paperwork, documentation, and submission process, saving you time and effort.

3. Increased Approval Chances: Agents ensure that your application is complete, accurate, and meets all requirements, increasing the chances of approval.

4. Convenience: Agents often provide additional services, such as document preparation, translation, and certification.

5. Support and Guidance: Agents offer personalized support and guidance throughout the application process.

## Pros:

1. Streamlined Process: Agents know the most efficient way to navigate the application process.

2. Reduced Stress: Agents handle the paperwork and communication with the authorities, reducing your stress levels.

3. Access to Exclusive Services: Some agents may offer additional services, such as airport pickups, accommodation assistance, or travel insurance.

4. Up-to-Date Information: Agents stay informed about changes in regulations, requirements, and procedures.

## Cons:

1. Additional Costs: Using an agent will incur additional fees, which can range from 10,000 to 50,000 THB or more, depending on the agent and services offered.

2. Dependence on the Agent: You may feel reliant on the agent for updates and progress, which can be frustrating if communication is poor.

3. Risk of Unreliable Agents: There is a risk of working with unscrupulous or inexperienced agents who may not provide the best service.

4. Potential for Errors: While agents can minimize errors, there is still a risk of mistakes or omissions in the application process.

## Tips for Choosing an Agent:

1. Research and Reviews: Research the agent's reputation, read reviews, and ask for referrals.

2. Check Credentials: Verify the agent's credentials, licenses, and certifications.

3. Clear Communication: Ensure the agent provides clear, concise, and regular updates on your application status.

4. Transparent Fees: Understand the agent's fees, services, and payment terms.

By weighing the benefits, pros, and cons, you can make an informed decision about whether to use an agent for your DTV visa application.

I hope some people find this helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand can be applied for without an agent if applicants meet the necessary requirements. However, many consider using agents for their expertise in the application process. The benefits of using an agent include expert knowledge, time-saving, increased approval chances, convenience, and personalized support. Conversely, cons include additional costs, dependence on the agent, the risk of unreliable agents, and potential application errors. I mean look into the agent. Check online. Ask in groups. licencing here is a bit weird. Definitely make good efforts to research them before giving any money. Lots of good google reviews is my go to for checking if they are legit.

It's a good post but if you are chasing a DTV for cooking or mua Thai you need to use that company you can't get around it can you?
William *******

I would say you could do that without using an agent. Get proof of the course.

i have engaged with a Mua Thai company direct its 23,000 baht for 16 Mua Thai classes and gives you a 5 year DTV visa! No Agent involved just the establishment itself!

Some agents are offering services where you never have to attend the soft power courses on they out on your application.

@Greg *******
Those are the agents who are all about the 💰 and not the service or compliance of regulation. There are some agents who know less about the process than many of us on this forum.

Yes i would agree this is a fair statement.

@Andi **********
Agree. There are one or 2 I reckon will not be around long and their clients might just have issues when they are no longer. These are agents who are charging very premium prices too.

Yes i seen some pretty hilarious prices. The base price is around 11,000 bhat but agencies I have seen quote well above that.
Andi ***********
@William ******
That's very cheap, there agents charging 200k THB which Inc arranging bank statements and all other docs.
Greg ********
@William ******
I am talking 100k up. I would pay 11k THB to have a good agent or lawyer check my docs. I do not mind outsourcing for convenience or time.

Some people think the earth is flat. I am not judging them but to me paying that kind of money would be just as silly. If anyone has that kind of money and meets the requirements then better spent here on other things. Sorry but 200,000 is a lot. honestly the max i seen that looked like they cover bank account and some course was 65,000 or close to that number. I recommend everyone look around and check all options. Sorry for the long reply.

@William ******
Yep it is a lot but for some people it is a price they would pay to get into a country they ordinarily could not. In addition they can bring family along too.
Andi ***********
@Greg *******
Yes there are law firms who charge 10k to ensure your paperwork is in order which is fine. I was looking at using one when I initially started my DTV process and before finding this group.
Greg ********
@Andi **********
I was doing same. 400 USD and money returned if application failed. You must have been 100% honest with all information supplied to them for this.
Andi ***********
@Greg *******
Yes, similar to one I looked at plus free 15 min zoom call for initial consultation?

Wow. The highest I've seen was 70,000. I think that included a Muay Thai course also or help with a bank account. Either way i think anything over 20,000 bhat is robbery.
Craig **********
@William ******
agreed 24,000 is the best i've seen so far
