Any reason not to be able to get my stamp at Malaysian land border when re-entering on DTV? First renewal. Thanks for any helpful answers 🙂
Answer summary
The post discusses concerns about obtaining a 60-day visa exemption stamp when re-entering Thailand from Malaysia on a DTV visa for the first time. Many commenters affirm that re-entering by land typically allows for a 60-day stamp, although they note that certain conditions may apply based on previous entry history and the discretion of immigration officials. There are clarifications on common misconceptions about visa durations and the requirement for vehicle documentation when crossing borders with a car.

Yes you can, 2 times each year. And yes you will get 60 days. People don't check their facts.

no, land crossing are only 15 days, leaving the country means you have forfeited the remaining days on your current stay,

Most has been said. Most difficult is probably the car, check with AI about non-thai license plate sticker and insurance.

The only immigration thing is that they might ask you to spend two nights in Malaysia before you return.

Seth Taylor What a nonsense, 15 days for entering Thai overland.

The only place where 15 days appiles is a visa on arrival (it has to be paid for at the airport), for passport holders from the countries not eligible for 60 days visa exception. Like Russia, Serbia and all other countries not on the visa exemption list. 93 countries are eligible for 60 days visa exemption.

there's no such thing as 15 days. Where are you even getting this from?

@Seth *******
no. It'll just go back to 30 days. There's not going to be different entry methods.

cool thanks man... i wonder if this will change back to 15days when the 60 day entry visa stops and goes back to 30 days

@Seth *******
yes. 100% wrong. There's no such thing as a 15 day entry stamp for visa exempt and there's no difference to how many days you get at a land border vs air entry. There hasn't been a difference for MANY years

this is literally the worst website on the internet to use for anything Thailand related. It's from an agency that doesn't update their information, ever. This hasn't applied for a decade.

you will not get 15 days. You'll get 60 days visa exempt. You could just go to your immigration office and apply for a 30 day extension. Some borders aren't keen on letting people in and out and might make you spend a few nights in the other country, or tell you that you'll have to fly back into Bangkok if you want to leave.

David Robinson yeah you should do no problem.

Pretty sure 60 days is the only for flights into Thailand. Not over land.

That's entirely going to depend on your history inside Thailand over the last 12 to 18 months and how the immigration officer you will stand in front of views that history.

I assume you entered on the 60 day visa exempt stamp. You should be ok to leave and return and get another 60 days as long as you dont have a history of previous border bounces with lots of visa exempt entries recently. Also at present it is still 60 days visa exempt and hasn't yet changed to 30 days
