Can I apply for a workation DTV in Thailand without tax slips or paying taxes?

Hi, can you apply for workation dtv if you don't have tax slips or even pay tax. Where I come from if you are not living there you don't pay tax on income earned abroad or even income from local companies you freelance for.

I have not been in a country long enough to become tax resident either since turning freelance a few months ago.

I have an exclusive contract as consultant and can provide contract and invoices but those invoices are in my name not a business name, I don't have a business. Can of course provide screenshot, proof of work, company will write a letter and so it is just this tax thing that concerns me.

Thanks very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about the eligibility for applying for a Thailand workation visa (DTV) without providing tax slips, as their income is from freelance work abroad. They mention not having been tax residents in any country and have an exclusive consulting contract with invoices in their personal name. Responses suggest that while having a legal income is essential, tax documentation might not be strictly required; rather, convincing proof of legitimate freelance work and an explanation of the situation may suffice.

If you have a contract and get a salary and the company is legally registered, it should be no problem, but you might be asked for pay slips, and not paying tax anywhere might not look good.

For DTV Thailand wants applicants having a legal income outside Thailand, which also means you pay tax somewhere...

You sound more like a freelancer than workcation. It would completely depend on the embassy you apply at and how convincing your cover letter is going to be to explain it.

i already ask to chatgpt about what happend if you live 4 / 4 / 4 months in 3 country, he tell me you need to choose a country that will be your tax residency ( and it should be the one where you have more of your time and habit ), otherwise each country can claim you as tax resident. ( so it is better to clear it yourself ). Wrong ?! i was thinking about doing it, but it is already not easy to be tax resident in thailand with european banking/broker, so try to be tax resident of nowhere look even more difficult ^^.

Anonymous participant 887 don't mind being tax resident of Thailand. More than happy to pay tax here but if I was paying tax where I come from and I had to pay tax on Thailand then l there is no tax treaty so would be paying it twice.

There is no requirement to show tax proof. You need to prove that you legally work abroad, you don't work for Thai companies, and you are allowed to work remotely in Thailand.

Anonymous participant well, they can ask you for everything, including your pics, your individual tax reports etc. But they require it only if you're not convincing for them. If you have a legal business, you don't have to worry. Be sincere and explain everything to them, they will understand.
