Hello all,

I would like to ask about student visa cancellation. If I have already cancelled my student visa, can I leave the country for 1-2 days and come back with free 45 days visa? Because I need to pack my stuffs and prepare for documents for my cats to bring them back to my country. Will this be okay? Please give me some advice because I really some time to prepare to leave the country.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether they can leave Thailand for a couple of days after cancelling their student visa and return on a free 45-day visa. Community members suggest it's generally possible but caution the user should be prepared to answer questions at re-entry and ensure they have the necessary documentation, including proof of funds, travel plans, and lodging. Another commenter advises that coordinating the cancellation of the student visa with the intended departure date would have been preferable.

You missed the boat here. You should have had your education establishment to date your ED Visa cancellation to coincide with the date you'd like to leave Thailand.

My ED visa is expiring on 5th of February and the university didn’t inform us beforehand and I went back to my country right after my final examination but I went back with a re-entry. Therefore, I need to cancel my ED visa and with graduation ceremony and everything, I’ve just had the time to contact the university and they said they’re not sure if I can extend my stay here in Thailand and it’s solely based on the immigration office. That’s why I’m wondering if I have to leave the country for a few days if the immigration office doesn’t allow me to stay here for around 20-30 days.

Usually it should be fine, just be prepared to answer questions about why you're returning already, why you were here before, why you wanted to study, etc.

Also have the 3 proofs so they cannot easily deny you entry.

1) proof of funds (20,000₿ or equivalent in another major currency in cash only)

2) proof of travel out of Thailand within 45 days

3) proof of lodging showing where you're staying for at least the first few days

will it be okay if I go back to my country for 1-2 days and come back with free visa? Because I really need to start packing as I lived in a house and not a dorm and I have a lot of stuffs.

Thank you so much for your information. It really helps. Sorry for asking the same question again haha, I’m a bit restless as my visa expiration is coming closer.
