What do I need to know about applying for a DTV from New Zealand for travel to Thailand?

Hi everyone! I’m canadian, currently residing in NZ with a WHV. I’m considering applying for a DTV, hoping to be able to travel to Thailand in March/April next year.

I’m building my savings so I can meet the requirements and will probably not reach the necessary amount until the last quarter of the year. I was wondering if anyone here has also applied from NZ and has insights into timelines, any issue with their savings not being enough, benefits of going with an agency, or/and any sort of difficulties they might’ve experienced.
