TLDR : Answer Summary
The possibility of opening a bank account in Thailand as a condominium owner is discussed, but experiences vary. Some users reported difficulties even with property ownership, and several banks, including Bangkok Bank and Krungthai, were mentioned. It seems that most banks require a Non-Migrant O Visa or work permit to open an account. Kasikorn Bank was mentioned as more accommodating in the past, but individual experiences suggest that a formal approach through an agency may be more successful. Overall, many expats are facing challenges related to banking regulations.
I personally haven’t seen anyone using a condo to open an account. I’ve only seen it in the context of preventing the bank from closing an existing account.
