Hi. I'm in the process of trying to get a Thai DL ( I have a valid UK driving licence). I understand I need to get a letter of residency from immigration. One of the requirements for this is the 90 day report. Unfortunately, I don't have a recent receipt of 90 day report as I had to travel out of the country before I completed 90 days. So, will I still be able to obtain a letter from immigration? Or what are the other options to meet this requirement?
Edit: I do have a 90 day report from before renewing my visa. After renewing my visa, I had to travel before my 90 days were up.
Will an older 90 day report suffice? Or does it have to be most recent 90 day report?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about obtaining a Thai driving license while lacking a recent 90-day immigration report after traveling abroad. They ask if an older report might be acceptable and inquire about alternative options for meeting the residency letter requirement from immigration.
I got my DL when I first arrived in Thailand and did not have a 90 day report, I do not remember it causing any problems (but someone might correct me).
Do you have the international driving permit, as that made it very easy to apply.

Hi. Yes by post. My husband also received his by post. We didn't need 90 day report but had to give notification of stay at the property (filled out a couple of forms and copious amounts of photocopying to do this).
yes, I did the same a few months ago to buy a new car. I don't really see the point of the letter when you have an extension to stay in Thailand for a year, stamped by immigration in your passport, but these are Thai rules and I am happy to comply, to have the privilege to live here. Glad you and your husband got it sorted.

thanks. My International DL from UK has just expired π. But hoping to get this residency letter as is from immigration. I'll just have to turn up there and see what they say. I'll post what they said.
