I am currently on a tourist visa that has an end date of Oct. 24. Is it okay to leave Thailand on the 24th or do I need to leave on the 23rd to not have an overstay?

You need to be very careful- you are required to leave by the “permitted to stay” date stamped into your passport, not the visa expiry date.

so if the stamp says “until 24 Oct” then I just need to leave on or before that date is my understanding to not have an overstay.

Good point, the OP must leave before midnight 24-Oct if that is the date stamped in his passport not if this is the Tourist Visa expiry date

correct, but 1 day overstay you do not get fined just so you know.

wrong as land borders don’t give a grace period and you get a fine for 1 day overstay

sounds like you left the country by LAND, 😕

as a rule an overstay of under 24 hours is not charged when you fly out, in fact it's not until you hit 24 hour overstay that they fine you for TWO days overstay at the airports
