I am currently on a tourist visa that has an end date of Oct. 24. Is it okay to leave Thailand on the 24th or do I need to leave on the 23rd to not have an overstay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can leave Thailand on the last day of your tourist visa, October 24, without risking an overstay, as long as you pass immigration before midnight. It is important to consider the 'permitted to stay' date stamped in your passport, rather than the visa expiration date. Additionally, if needed, you have the option to extend your stay for 30 days for a fee.
as a rule an overstay of under 24 hours is not charged when you fly out, in fact it's not until you hit 24 hour overstay that they fine you for TWO days overstay at the airports
