🆕Arrived at the temporary immigration at 8 am. It was all done in about an hour. First, a one-month extension was allowed. I need to come back to immigration in Bangkok a month later. At that time, you will receive an extension of another month for free. I want to stay on Koh Samui for a month but have to come back. There is no extension in Koh Samui immigration. But I am happy to be allowed an extension of 2 months. Thanks to my friends for their advice🙏
PS, I forgot to ask if I need the documents again next time 555
【Question】
Hello everyone. I am Japanese.
I participated here because there is not enough information on the Japanese page.
⭐️ My question is, if the covid extension on Koh Samui was stamped first, then is the same extension possible in Bangkok?⭐️
The Japanese site said that the immigration in Bangkok is very strict. I read that the previous one is not allowed to be extended unless it is a stamp of Bangkok.
I entered Bangkok from Japan in December. After that, I extended it for 30 days first on Koh Samui, and then extended it for 2 months with covid extension. I have been staying for a total of 4 months.
I have all the necessary passport page copies and documents (TM7, STM2, TM30, oath, etc.).
I got all the documents at 11:00 today and finally went to immigration, but it was full and I couldn't get a ticket. I'm planning to go early tomorrow morning or after the holidays again.
Lend me your wisdom
my friends who like Thailand🙏
Thank you😎😎

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Japanese expat asks if a COVID extension done in Koh Samui can be further extended at Bangkok immigration. After sharing their experience of getting an extension in Koh Samui, they express concern about potential strict regulations at Bangkok immigration. Community responses advise that it is not necessary to return to the same immigration office for extensions and that outcomes can vary based on the discretion of the officer. They also recommend arriving early to avoid long wait times.
Worse case scenario if you are denied in Bangkok tomorrow you have 6 days to head back to Samui and see if they are as understanding as last time. Don't take the extension denied stamp in Bangkok if they refuse you, it doesn't leave you any alternative than to leave Thailand by that stamp date.
It should be okay. Most people reported success. Not guaranteed, but chances are good. Make sure:
1) TM30 updated to your current Bangkok hotel/condo address, not Samui.
2) Go to correct location. If you arrived Thailand with no visa(Visa Exemption) go to Muang Thing Thani. If you had a TR visa sticker from the Consulate in Japan, then go to Chaeng Wattana.
① TM30 was issued for the first time. It is the address of my apartment in Bangkok. ② I went there today, so I know the location. Go to the 3rd floor. Thank you.
There is no regulation you need to go to the same immigration office for a new extension unless you have an under-consideration stamp (which you don't). Be aware that so-called Covid extension is totally at the discretion of the officer you will deal with. Also, they may ask you for additional documents such as proof of outbound travel or an embassy letter in Bangkok.
All you can do is go there and try to apply for an extension.
In the worst case, they say no and give you 7days to leave.
Or ask the office if you can get one verbally before you submit the documents and fee.
Oh, it's at the discretion of the officers. That may be the true answer. I will wear beautiful clothes. I will respond with a smile. By the way, my passport is beautiful. I will go while praying. Thank you.
