I have applied for renewal of my American passport and will get on the 15th of this month. Is Chaeng Wattana the only place to get new passport stamped with my existing visa. I live in Hua Hin which has immigration office there. Would like to not have to do it here IN BKK. Thanks.

You can also travel with your 2 passports the valid one and the one with the holes punched in it in case they want to see your visa at immigration...

but at the same time carry both when you go out as well...you never know when they might do a visa check at a bar, on the street etc...

That is if you have a VISA, the OP has an EXTENSION, and that should be transferred.

Do you have a visa or an extension ? Visas are not transferred, only extensions. If you need your extension transferred, you will do it at the office that issued it.
