Can I get an education visa in Thailand from Insight English without leaving the country?

Has anyone heard of or worked with "Insight English"? They are a language school in Hua Hin with an office in Bangkok who tell me they can secure an education visa without having to leave the country. It feels a bit too good to be true since other schools have told me I'd have to visit an embassy outside of Thailand

I do genuinely want to learn Thai to communicate better with my girlfriend's family. But I do admit that since I'm already in Thailand on amnesty, I worry if I leave I won't be able to return for a while so the benefits of a long-term visa are an attractive bonus at this time

For those of you who are learning Thai. "Mondly" is a good interactive app on a similar enjoyable level to Duolingo which unfortunately doesn't support Thai yet ✌️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about Insight English, a language school in Hua Hin that claims it can secure an education visa without leaving Thailand. They express skepticism since other schools indicated a need to exit the country to obtain such a visa. The discussion includes experiences and opinions from others regarding visa processes, the risks of 'under-the-table' deals, and the importance of learning the Thai language. Participants also advise the user to be cautious with options that seem too good to be true, especially when navigating immigration rules.

I was sent a medical visa offer from a border run agency I used in the past.

“User of the amnesty and not plan to depart Thailand before 31st July? Can get you a medical extension for 60days=thb
*****
or 90days=thb
*****
within 25th July”

I enquired for more information out of curiosity and asked if LASIK eye surgery would be eligible since I plan to do this anyway and they said I won’t get asked what medical I get in Thailand and it wasn’t required for their application. Maybe I underestimated what a bit of cash can do or maybe I’m right to be skeptical 🤨

Yep, if they say they can do it, chances are they can. It will be a good opportunity for you to learn thai! Best of luck.

Thanks Andy, I've been learning the basics. I think a structured program and the pressure of getting questioned at Thai immigration will help speed things along

There are a few schools scattered around the country (Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai) who have this "offer" and desperate people are signing up and paying what ever it costs because they're afraid of what will happen when amnesty ends.

I'd say sit tight, take the amnesty, wait for the comin' announcement about what amnesty holders have to do, and DON'T sign up for a crazy money in country program just because you're desperate.

I appreciate the advice and yes, I was getting a bit desperate. I'll sit tight for now. My reasoning was if I do end up having to leave, I would be sitting in the UK willing to pay more to return

At this time <- meaning right now. There is no "official way" (meaning ABOVE the table) to get an in country 90 day Non-ED visa issued once you go on amnesty :O The only way is to "grease the wheels" and do it under the table. Now that is NOT saying the stamps aren't real BUT it is saying you pay FAR more than the 2000baht that immigration offices charge for a 90 day Non-Immigrant visa.

Thanks, I was quoted 12,500 + 14,500 for anyone wondering. Then 6,000 every 90 days

Is it ran by Teacher O and her husband? If so I'd do it. They are the kindest Christian Thai people I've ever met. They had a location in tha Sala at one time.

I have no idea, I'll try to figure it out. The school is in Hua Hin and they have offices in Silom and Ladprao

admin can remove my comment if this is against rules***

I went to the local school in hua hin in June. They can provide ED visa because they work directly with immigration in hua hin.

Yes, that's what they told me. My visa will be processed with Hua Hin not Bangkok. It's a bit pricey, 12,500 for the application + 14,500 for the visa conversion at immigration with no guarantee but I guess this is a convenience fee of not having to leave the country. Did you go ahead with them or were you just enquiring?
