Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹ everyone. Is there an English language course that can be done remotely and can get a student visa? I'll be in Chiang Mai with my family on December, me, my husband, my 4 year old daughter and my 1 year old son. My daughter goes to school and it will be possible to obtain a visa for only 1 guardian. I wonder if there is a possibility that I can stay home with my baby and take online classes at a distance and get a student visa. Thanks for advices ๐Ÿ™

@Dean Robert Hebron: There are many language schools that are closed by the authorities every year because they do not comply with the regulations and offer ED-Visa online classes which is against the law! For an ED-VISA students have to attend classes. That's the fact!

Correct. Actually they are Visa Agencies with a School license and selling visas. This has nothing to do with EDUCATION!

Depends on how much you're willing to pay an "agent", and hope that you don't have a law abiding immigration officer that spot checks visas.. good luck.

The number of hours per week that you need to attend classes to qualify for an education visa is not much. Can be as little as 3 days a week, 2 hours at a time. Perhaps you can juggle the care of your baby between yourself and your husband in order to do this?

There's always that one person who says "I did it".

An ED visa requires in person attendance and Immigration does check.

You should be able to get the visa based on being your daughters guardian for 2 parents provided you can show the right money in your account. Not sure about English courses but you can learn Thai online with some language schools. If you're staying in chasing mai then you should find a local school there as you will need to go to the right immigration office every 3 months

@Charlie ****
you can only get 1 guardian visa per child enrolled in school with an ED visa.

Education visa are for those who really want to study, you just want to be a tourist in thailand then you should pay for an elite visa. You don't have $ for that? Then thailand isn't the right place for your family and you

You cannot qualify for an education visa if you're taking online classes. They will tell you to go to your home country and take the classes there.

An education visa is issued because it's a class that you need to attend in person, or else you wouldn't need to be in Thailand.
