TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa and is interested in transitioning to a retirement visa. They inquire whether it's feasible to obtain a 60-day Non-O retirement visa by visiting Laos or Cambodia. A comment suggests that it's possible to get a 90-day single entry Non-O visa at the Thai consulate in Laos, provided the applicant is over 50 and meets specific requirements.

You could go to the thai consulate in Lao and get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa based on being over 50 (retirement).

It would require you showing proof of 800K baht or the equivalent in a bank account, a medical certificate and a police background check.

You can get it at either thai consulate in Lao, Savannakhet or Vientiane. It costs 2000baht.

Once you have that you could come in, get stamped in for 90 days and then when that runs down you could go to the immigration office in your area and apply for a yearly extension of stay by meeting the proof of funds and providing the documentation they require,
