Did not apply for a retirement visa through an agent soon enough, so I have to leave. I’ll visit India for 2 months then return here. Can I start the application process from there? I’d so, what steps can I take?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're planning to leave Thailand and go to India for a couple of months, you can start your Thai retirement visa application process from there. You should apply through the Thai embassy or consulate in India, which can be done online via their official website. Make sure to follow these steps: obtain a NON-O visa from the embassy, ensure you receive the correct stamp upon your return to Thailand, set up a bank account, and meet the financial requirements for extending your stay.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

You're so brave, 2 months. Should let you back no questions, lol

1. Get the non-O visa online from the embassy in India.

2. Fly and Enter Thailand, ensuring the immigration officer stamps you un with the non-O visa.

3. Open a bank account in Thailand within a couple of weeks.

4. Transfer 800,000 baht into your account.

5. Get a list of requirements from immigration to extend your stay.

6. When your money has been in your account for 2 months, go back to immigration with everything on their list and extend your stay.
