TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for advice on obtaining a new 1-year multi-entry Non-O visa after leaving Thailand without renewal options. Various commenters suggest that the user can enter on a 60-day tourist visa or a 30-day visa exempt entry, then proceed to Savannakhet or Ho Chi Minh City for the visa application.

Okay, first of you can't "renew" any visa at a thai consulate, you would be BUYING a new one..

I'd say fly in with either a single entry tourist visa (that will stamp you in for 60 days) OR on a 30 day visa exempt entry and then get the documents together to go to Savannakhet to buy a new year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa.

Even if you did apply in London, you could only get a single entry Non O anyway.

you could have either done re.entey permit if any time left on last stamp or.extendes for 60 days before tou left

I'm assuming you are legally married, have all the paperwork, etc., and you have the visa before.

To answer your question, yes you can. Or...

1. Fly in on a 30 day visa exempt (free) and go to Laos then.

2. Fly directly into Savannakhet and get the visa before entering Thailand

3. HCMC also sells the same visa without requiring the proof of funds (but does require a hand written letter from your wife in Thai requesting the visa). You can fly directly there and get the visa as well

The visa exempt is easy to get. Just cross through immigration and they'll give it to you automatically. You can get unlimited visa exampts by air (where unlimited is defined by the immigration officer on duty) and two by land each calendar year

@Benjamin *****
yes we are legally married. And have been living in Mae Hong son for 15 years. I will be flying in to Chiang Mai from Manchester

I didn't know you could get a 30 day visa exempt. How do I get one. I have always been able to get a 12 month multi entry visa. Thank you.
