Can I get a 30-day extension on my visa exemption at Chaeng Wattana?

So if I understood well, there is no way to get a 30 days extension (from exemption) at Chaeng wattana ? Must go to Muang Thong Thani right ?

you are correct. IF you entered the country on a visa exempt entry, to get an extension on it in Bangkok you go to the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office here:
