TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual, a British citizen working in Australia, is concerned about returning to Thailand due to potential job shutdowns and the current entry restrictions associated with COVID-19. The comments emphasize that to enter Thailand, travelers must meet specific requirements, including having a COVID-19 free certificate and a health insurance policy of at least $100,000. Options like applying for a long-stay Non-O visa based on family ties are suggested, as the visa on arrival program is no longer an option for British passport holders. The general consensus recommends securing a visa from a Thai consulate in Australia before attempting to travel.

My advice: You can get a visa exempt IF you fly into Thailand, AND meet the insurance requirements. If you can meet that requirement, great.

Get ahold of one of the thai consulates there in Australia and see if you can get a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai from them..

. You've got some suggestions above. Flights are available but you need to meet the criteria. Your other options are to sit tight where you are until it all blows over, or return to your home country. Considering some of the issues raised in this group your position in not too bad.

you will need to meet the entry requirements flying in.

BUT

I tell you the last thing you wanna do is show up here on a 30 day visa exempt entry and have no way to further your stay.

Get a visa from a thai consulate in Australia BEFORE you wing your way here.

Apply for visa from Australia visa on arrival has been scrapped in Thailand

You're right, the visa on arrival program has been canceled, however British passport holders never had a visa on arrival; they had a 30 day visa exempt when they arrive to Thailand.

If your family is home in Thailand get a long stay visa, at this moment coming into Thailand with short term stay is not the best decision.

If you have insurance with $100,000 policy, covid19 free dr notice issued within 72 hours, and can find an airline that flies in...why not

You need corona 19 certificate to say you don't have it.taken 3 days before you fly plus
