Can I extend or switch my visa after arriving in Thailand for a 2-month stay?

Hey guys, I’m coming to Thailand on a 2-month visa and running into an issue finding a condo; most places only offer 6 or 12-month contracts.

I’m a digital nomad, so I was wondering if it’s possible to extend or switch to a longer visa after arriving in Thailand? That way I could commit to a longer lease.

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences

thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their 2-month visa in Thailand as they face challenges finding short-term condo rentals, which typically require 6 or 12-month contracts. Comments suggest exploring options like the DTV visa or switching to other visa types, like an education visa (ED), but emphasize the importance of visa type and applying from abroad where applicable.

DTV is what I have and it works as I’m on a 6 month deal. At the minimum this is allowed.

DTV best for your situation, but you need to apply from abroad embassy. Before you are arriving, but it is quick to get if you have all things sorted. Use an agent.

You haven’t told us what country you’re from and what kind of visa you have or plan to get.
