In Thailand on 60 day tourist visa, plan to do 1 month extension. Can I go to any immigration office in Thailand? or its need to be specific ones in the big cities?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your 60-day tourist visa at any immigration office in Thailand as long as it serves the area where you are staying. It's not necessary to go to specific immigration offices in major cities.

The TM 6 arrival card is NOT required at this time.

you go to the immigration office that serves the area of thailand where you're staying. As long as you show you're staying at an address inside that area you're fine.

Ok sounds good. Im staying with a friend at their house so I don't have the TM30, and the landlord is out of the country but I'll figure it out. Thanks.

Stay at a large commercial hotel and ask for a copy the day before you apply, then get your friend to file one on your return.

It's a requirement everywhere. Not with police directly (that would be a bit extreme), but in the TM30 system. Simply ask your landlord to provide a TM30 for you. You print it out and then go to the back at immigration to do a "TM30 receipt" (which they/you staple in your passport and take photocopies of when need to).

You need to ask for a new TM30 and do a new "TM30 receipt" every time you stay at a hotel, since the hotel staff will do a TM30 during your stay at the hotel.

thanks. ive heard online that there's an extra requirement now in CM to show a TM30, which is basically proof that your landlord registered you with the police.

nothing to do with the police, just a requirement at some offices that you have a TM30 filed. how about you swing by the immigration office in the area where you're staying BEFORE you need to get the 30 day extension and see what they require. Remember there are over 70 offices in the country, SO what you "heard" might not be what they require ๐Ÿ˜‰
