This,is what I did and may work.
I got a,non o marriage E visa for 90 days.
As i entered I asked if I could use it later ie before expiry date.
They agreed and I entered on 60 day visa exempt.
I then did a,border run and used the 90 day EVisa.

What is the reason for your Non-O as it may be possible to get the 60 day "Visit Thai Family" extension in country?

Yes you could, or you could apply for a year's extension while you were here

you cannot get marriage visa without proof of legally married to a Thai woman. If you visit Thailand to marry her, you cannot get non-O before your marriage.Lindsay **********
