Just wondering if I was to stop my ed visa would I be able to do a border run to Cambodia and come back after 24hrs on a tourist visa

No. Any consulate in SE Asia operates on a “apply day one” “pick up day two” (or even three). You can’t do a a visa run in 24 hours.
