Hey guys! I'm an Indian resident on a Non Immigrant ED visa in Thailand. I have been a full time student here for over year and was recently offered a job. I have been told that I must leave Thailand once the company provides me with the necessary documents and apply for the Non Immigrant B Visa in order to return. I have been told however that with the correct documentation, it is not necessary to leave Thailand at all and that I can simply have my student visa converted to a work visa. Does anyone know about the conversion process? This is a BOI company if that is helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian resident on a Non Immigrant ED visa in Thailand is seeking advice on whether they can convert their student visa to a work visa without leaving Thailand, especially since they were offered a job at a BOI company. A comment clarifies that typically only Visa Exempt Entries and Tourist Visas can be converted into Non Immigrant visas, but BOI companies may assist with the process through their one-stop service.

You can only convert a Visa Exempt Entry and the Tourist Visa into a Non Immigrant visa. But seeing as your company is BOI, they have special privileges and a one stop service. They can and will inform you about everything:
