Hi has anyone had experience of converting to an ED visa from amnesty? Certain schools in Chiang Mai are saying it’s possible. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

TLDR : Answer Summary
It's possible to convert from amnesty to an ED visa in Chiang Mai, but it largely depends on the specific school and the local immigration office's policies. Some schools can process this change while others may not, and changes in regulations may affect availability.

And just like that we're done.
Just so EVERYONE is clear to get a 90 day non-O visa inside thailand at an immigration office is 2000baht SO if who ever is doing it for you charges more you're paying for them to get it under the table for you..

At this time <- that means as of NOW. The ability to go from amnesty to a 90 day Non-ED visa is between you, the school you enroll in and the immigration office in your area.
Contact the school you're enrolled in to see their policy. Some can, some can't and we're waiting to see if the new changes will allow more schools to be able to issue in country Non-ED visas from amnesty for students.

Yes I am starting my process on Monday in CM. In fact the school notified me of the amnesty extension before it became public. But go asap because the process takes a while.
